Healthful eating plans have several things in common. First, they offer varied meals, which means that no major food groups or food types are missing. At the same time, though, a healthy diet is one that is rich in healthful meals that consist of fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grains, low-fat dairy products and proteins. While a healthy diet can include eating other foods - including convenience foods and treats - no truly healthful eating plan includes large amounts of processed or sugary foods. Further, a healthy lifestyle plan includes exercise, fresh air, and adequate rest.
It is not difficult to follow a healthful eating plan if you make eating healthy meals a snap. Stocking up on fresh fruits and vegetables allows for easy snacking. Getting rid of sugary and salty foods in your kitchen helps cut down on cravings and temptation. In general, many dieters find that if they make tasty and fresh healthful meals available for themselves, they are less likely to crave less healthy foods.
